Any time you are entitled to go up a level – or when you do something that WOULD earn you a level if you weren't already Level 9 – you may, instead, place a munchkin pawn in front of you. And we didn't want to eat our vegetables, because vegetables are yucky.

The die itself is a large decahedron (d10) numbered “1” through “Ding!” with each face showing the iconic Munchkin character (artwork by John Kovalic) in ever increasing amounts of gear as he progresses from level 1 to level 10.
The die adds special rules to the game.
General rule:
If you are using a Wicked Munchkin Die, you start the game with one extra level.
Special rule: “Roll the Bones”
If you are using the Wicked Munchkin Die, and you are fighting an undead monster you may spend a level to roll that die. You get a bonus equal to the roll against that monster.

Munchkin came out in 2001. Since then, we've published eight more core games and over a dozen expansion sets. We've learned a lot in the last nine years, and new printings of Munchkin and its sequels will change some cards for clarity or balance.

But we don't expect our fans to buy their Munchkin collection all over again. Instead, we created Munchkin: Go Up a Level. This box contains 132 updated cards. They span every Munchkin set except Munchkin 6 – Demented Dungeons, Munchkin Dice, and the Fairy Dust and Waiting for Santa boosters . . . none of which needs any updating.

Munchkin Marked for Death is a double-duty booster set! This pack contains 17 all-new cards, including Anvil, Recalculate Your XP, and the horrifying effervescence of the Soap Golem . . . plus two almost-new cards. And they're balanced to let you use them as a quick rigged demo for your friends, to get them into the madness that is Munchkin!

Fixed Cards

The two "almost-new" cards are the corrected reprints of Curse! Lead Paint! and Curse! Warranty Expires!. These were originally released withMunchkin 7: More Good Cards, but were erroneously printed with Treasure backs instead of Door backs.
